Local evaluation

From archive to a managed local instance.

Choose a package on the official download page, read the full terms and explicitly accept the applicable agreements. Read therelease status and platform scope.

  1. Choose the platform archive.
The first release is available as a Windows x64 ZIP and Linux x64 tar.gz when downloads are enabled. There is no installer and no macOS package.
  2. Verify, then extract.
Check the adjacent SHA-256 and the archive manifest. Keep the extracted program bundle separate from mutable instance data.
  3. Start AxolDB.
On Windows, double-click Start Axol Studio.cmd in a normal non-elevated session. On Linux, use bin/axol server start. Linux native Studio additionally needs a graphical session and the listed GTK/WebKit prerequisites; CLI/Server checks do not certify the GUI.
  4. Complete first-run setup.
Create the initial administrator through the owner-local flow, store the one-time credential safely, and connect an explicit session.
  5. Stop deliberately.
Closing Studio leaves Server active. Use the public server status and server stop commands for the exact instance.
